Question
How do I know if I am supplying enough air to my tool? What pressure should I set at the pressure regulator? When does pressure affect my tool's performance?
Environment
Any customer, potential customer, retailer and/or service technician looking to better understand how air volume and pressure affect pneumatic tool performance.
Answer
Air Tools state a maximum pressure (PMAX) on the label and have been designed to operate with that pressure being always available at the tool's air inlet. We call it dynamic air pressure.
The video below demonstrates the concept and shows how to test for optimal tool performance.
