PURPOSE:
The following details how to perform a backup and restore on an INSIGHTqc corded controller.
This backup and restore process will enable the user to generate a file backup to a USB flash drive or to the device being used to access the controller. This backup can include up to: all user programs and settings, licenses, as well as all cycle log data and tightening trace data. This file can be saved by the user and can be shared via email, USB key, etc.
This is useful to keep a standing backup of the controller that can be deployed to other controllers and/or as a recovery method for a station in the event it is needed. It is also recommended to be completed prior to a firmware update to protect against risk of data loss.
‼️ NOTE: When backup and restore operation is in progress, fastening operation will be disabled and all other users will be logged out.
‼️ NOTE: If you are interfacing with the controller directly from the controller screen, a USB flash drive should be inserted into any available USB port on the controller as a destination and/or source for the backup file.
- If you are accessing remotely with a device browser, this is not necessary as the file will be saved directly to or uploaded from the device being used to access the controller
Choose from the following:
CREATING A BACKUP FILE
1. Login to the controller using an authorized login
- Select the USER icon at the top of the home screen
- Enter valid credentials and select LOGIN
2. Click on the MENU Icon in the upper right of the controller screen
3. Browse down to the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE and select BACKUP & RESTORE
4. On the BACKUP & RESTORE screen you have the ability to select which modules are to be included in the backup file.
Select all the modules desired to be included in the backup file.
The modules are as follows:
- SETTINGS
- RESULTS AND LOGS
- LICENSE
- FIRMWARE
5. Select CREATE BACKUP
When a backup is performed directly from the controller, a window will be displayed to select the folder location on the USB flash drive that was inserted previously.
When a backup is performed on a remote connection using a device with a browser, the backup file will be downloaded to the default location as set by the browser settings.
If backup operation fails, an error will be displayed indicating the failure.
RESTORING A BACKUP FILE
