This article includes terms and parameters used within the Yokota YZ-T(H) Battery Shut-Off Pulse tool documentation and interface, along with the explanation of what these terms mean and how they are significant to the user.
NOTE: Links are provided throughout the list below to help provide additional explanation to related topics.
TERMS & PARAMETERS
VALUE
- A value at which the tool will shut off once it is reached during the rundown of the fastener
TIGHTENING VALUE
- The resultant value of a rundown upon completion of the tightening
TIGHTENING PULSE NO.
- The total number of pulses achieved between the DISPLAY START VALUE and tool shut-off
DISPLAY START VALUE
- Threshold value to begin the judgement of a tightening for OK or NG.
- Below this value, no judgement is made.
- This is similar to a cycle start or torque threshold (IR) value.
SWITCH VALUE
- The threshold point during the tightening where the tool 'switches' from rundown speed (MID SPEED) to the final tightening speed (HIGH SPEED)
- This is similar to shiftdown point (IR), but in this case - the speed increases.
CUT VALUE
- The value at which the tool with shut off during the rundown
- This is the target value that you are trying to achieve with each rundown
MAX VALUE
- If the tool detects a value that is above the MAX VALUE, before the AVERAGE NUMBER value reaches the CUT VALUE , the tool will shutoff at that point and show rundown NG.
LOW SPEED
- This is the speed (RPM) at which the tool will run when the tool trigger is partially depressed (half-trigger pull)
- This can be used as an engagement step to help 'find' the fastener before MID SPEED starts the rundown
- NOTE: This is valid for FWD and REV rotation, based on the settings of the tool
MID SPEED
- This is the speed (RPM) at which the tool will run when the tool trigger is fully depressed until the tool reaches SWITCH VALUE
- NOTE: This is only true in FWD rotation; REV rotation does not use MID SPEED - only LOW SPEED (half trigger) and HIGH SPEED (full trigger)
HIGH SPEED
- In FWD direction, this is the speed (RPM) at which the tool will run, starting at the SWITCH VALUE and continuing until the CUT VALUE is achieved
- In REV direction, this is the speed (RPM) at which the tool will run anytime the trigger is fully depressed
MIN PULSE
- The minimum number of pulses to be achieved for tightening to be judged for OK or NG.
- If the minimum number of pulses is not achieved, the tightening will be NG.
MAX PULSE
- The maximum number of pulses to be achieved for tightening to be judged for OK or NG.
- If the maximum number of pulses is exceeded, the tightening will be NG.
AVERAGE NUMBER
- This is the number of pulses the system should take the arithmetic mean (average) of values from for judgement of the tightening.
- Example: If the value entered in AVERAGE NUMBER was '3'- the system would then average the measured values of 3 consecutive pulses before making an OK or NG judgement.
SLOW ERROR PULSES
- The total number of pulses in excess of the preset number (70 is the present value - fixed)
- This calculation also includes any pulses less than the DISPLAY START VALUE
VALUE JUDGEMENT BEFORE AVERAGE
- If the tool detects a value that is above the MAX VALUE, before reaching the AVERAGE NUMBER when it starts the averaging calculation, the tool will shutoff at that point and show rundown NG.
