Updating the Firmware on INSIGHTqc

This article demonstrates how to update the firmware on an INSIGHTqc corded controller. 

‼️Note: Please see attached matrix outlining the steps necessary to update from any version.

             Also attached is a procedure for doing a complete USB image update.

• Login to controller local screen as admin.
• From controller Home screen, go to  MENU > SYSTEM MAINTENANCE >FIRMWARE UPDATE screen

• Download the IRB_Update file from FTP site.
• Copy the application IRB file folder to USB flash drive, and connect the USB flash drive to the controller USB port.

• Now click on the Upload button to update the software.
• Wait for 5 min until the update completes and ‘successfully completed’ message is shown.
• Controller will log off automatically.

 ‼️Note: In case of updating from any lower version to 6.7.x and higher version, controller needs to be rebooted after successful firmware update as latest version has new Ethernet IP and Profinet stack.

In web UI, press ‘Control+ Shift +Delete’ to clear the data cache before logging in.

Verification of new version

• Login to controller local screen as admin.
• Verify the OS version, Application version, MCE version and DB version is as expected using the MENU > ABOUT screen
