Interchangeable Anvils
Versatility meets power in the Ingersoll Rand patented Drive Xchange System™ which lets you switch out anvils without clunky adapters that drain your tool's power.
Maintain the torque power output by replacing your worn anvil in less than a minute.
More impact power transfer compared to common socket adapters.
Compatible with all DXS2 tools.
Integrated Sockets
Never lose power from worn sockets and square drive anvils with Drive Xchange System™ Sockets and enjoy easier access into tight spaces with up to ¾” shorter tool length when used with Ingersoll Rand DXS™ impact wrenches. DXS™ direct drive sockets fit tighter and have more load bearing surface compared to traditional square drives to deliver up to 15% better torque transfer and 20% longer wear life.

Socket Retention
DXS sockets come with a domed retention pin making them secure but also easy to swap. For those looking for stronger socket retention we offer a tapered pin style. The tapered pin style makes it tougher for the socket to come out of the tool making it tougher to pull the socket of the tool unintentionally. The tapered style may even require physically depressing the pin, similarly to how the DXS anvils are swapped, for the first couple installs /removals of the socket.
The process of swapping over your DXS domed pin style to tapered pins style sockets is fairly simple. It is clearly explained in the following instructions as well as an in depth tutorial video below.
PROCEDURE TO REPLACE SOCKET RETAINER PIN AND SPRING
Spring and Pin Removal
- Use a small hook or probe.
- Insert the tool into the end of the socket.
- Grab the looped end of the spring.
- Pull out the spring to release the pin.
- Remove both the spring and the pin.
Spring and Pin Installation
- Compress the spring.
- Partially insert the spring into the end of the socket.
- Look down into the pin hole in the socket.
- Insert the spring until the loop is just visible.
- Hold the spring in place.
- Insert the pin into the socket pin hole with the groove facing inward.
- Press the pin into the loop of the spring (using a hard object to press down will ease assembly).
- Ensure the groove of the pin is captured by the loop of the spring.
- If the pin does not snap-in, pull out the spring just a little until it does.
- If the pin goes too far, pry the pin back out until groove snaps around the spring.
- Push the spring completely in until it stops.
- Compress pin to verify that it is captured and operating freely.
- Note: Capturing the pin correctly may require several attempts. It becomes easier after a few trial-and-error attempts.
