Wheel compatibility depends on more than whether an accessory fits the tool. Before installation, verify the complete combination of:

- Diameter and thickness
- Spindle, arbor, thread, collet, or shank size
- Mounting hardware
- Required guard

Note About 3445MAX and 345MAX Wheel Listings
The current IR product-page table identifies Type 27 for grinding and also displays Types 1, 27, 41, and 42 with a cutting designation. The webpage formatting does not clearly preserve the original grouping of these values.
Do not rely on the webpage table alone to choose a cutting wheel for these models. Confirm the permitted cutting-wheel type, dimensions, mounting hardware, and required guard in your tool's product manual or with Ingersoll Rand Technical Support.
Tools with Published Cut-Off Wheel Compatibility
Use cut-off wheels only for cutting. Never use the side of a cut-off wheel for grinding.

A matching collet size does not make every burr compatible. Confirm the permitted burr diameter, shape, speed rating, shank engagement, and maximum overhang in the applicable manuals.

The current M2 Series Angle Air Grinder page identifies one model specifically for a wire brush.

Final Compatibility Check
Before installing any wheel, burr, brush, drum, or other rotary accessory, verify:
- The exact tool model appears in the applicable documentation.
- The accessory type is approved for that model.
- The intended grinding, cutting, sanding, or cleaning operation is approved.
- The accessory diameter and thickness are within the stated limits.
- The spindle, thread, arbor, collet, or shank dimensions match.
- The accessory’s maximum operating speed equals or exceeds the tool’s maximum speed.
- The correct flanges, nuts, mandrels, pads, or other mounting components are used.
- The required guard is installed and properly positioned.
- The accessory is undamaged and correctly mounted.
If any requirement cannot be confirmed, do not use the accessory.
