Issue Description:

Customer Complaint: Tool will exhibit whining or groaning sound when it is running.
Cause: Insufficient lubrication.

Actions Required:

Routine lubrication of the impact mechanism is required as a part of regular maintenance. If this maintenance is not performed, the hammer case bushing can become dry resulting in a whining or groaning sound while the tool is running.

1.  Apply 2-3 drops of IR #10 oil to the bushing:

2.  If the noise persists then remove hammer case and clean & lubricate as instructed in the Product Information manual (shown below). Apply IR 105 grease to the anvil and impact mechanism assembly. Apply IR 67 Grease to the gears.

This repair is not warrantable. 

Additional Comments:

Routine lubrication of the impact mechanism is required as a part of regular maintenance. Refer to the Product Information manual for recommended lubrication practices and frequency.
