Understanding the Speed Display
The G5111 Die Grinder features a six-position speed selector and a “True Speed” LCD display, with a maximum tool speed of 25,000 RPM. The LCD shows the maximum RPM for the selected position before startup, helping you choose a setting that matches the accessory’s speed rating and the work being performed.
The six speed settings provide control for cutting, sanding, blending, and finishing. Matching the selected speed to the approved accessory and material helps improve results, protect accessory life, and reduce the risk of surface damage.
When selecting a speed:
- Check the accessory’s maximum rated speed. The maximum RPM for the selected tool setting must not exceed the accessory’s speed rating.
- Confirm accessory compatibility. The G5111 accommodates ¼-inch and 6 mm collets and is rated for approved 2-inch cutting and 3-inch sanding accessories. Diameter, shank size, speed rating, and mounting requirements all affect suitability.
- Follow the applicable tool and accessory instructions. Use the displayed maximum RPM to help select an appropriate setting for the application.
Seeing the Work Area
The 360° Shadowless LED illuminates the workpiece from all angles around the accessory, helping reduce shadows and improve visibility in confined spaces and machine enclosures.
This added visibility helps you see details during deburring, surface finishing, and weld cleanup, particularly inside machinery or in areas with limited external lighting.
Accessory Compatibility
The G5111 accommodates ¼-inch and 6 mm collets and is rated for approved 2-inch cutting and 3-inch sanding accessories. This supports a range of cutting, sanding, blending, deburring, cylinder honing, and surface-finishing applications.
Use the collet that matches the approved accessory’s shank size, and follow the model-specific installation instructions. The spindle lock helps make accessory changes faster.
Before installing an accessory, confirm that its diameter, shank size, speed rating, and mounting requirements are suitable for the tool. Use the six-position speed selector and LCD to choose a setting whose maximum RPM does not exceed the accessory’s rated speed. The tool’s maximum speed is 25,000 RPM.
Battery Platform
The G5111 is part of the IQV20™ 20V cordless battery platform. It works with all IQV20 batteries, including current and high-capacity batteries, allowing users to share batteries with other tools across the platform.
Cordless operation supports mobile work and tasks inside machinery without requiring an air compressor or power cord.
