IQI Software Release Notes — Control Box Application v1.0.0.273

Introduction

This release note covers the IQI11-FM Controller and Remote Browser software update. It includes software version details, tool compatibility, connectivity support, new features and enhancements, and upgrade instructions.

Important:

• Update both the controller and tool firmware versions.
• Please update all tools and controllers in the field to this firmware version.

2. New Features and Enhancements

New Features

• Profinet Certification: Tests passed, certification completed and certificate issued. New GSDML file: GSDML-V2.43-IngersollRand-InsightQI-20251021.xml.

• Ethernet IP Setup: New EDS file: 20251125_INSIGHTqiEIP3_4_20.eds. 
  Link: Fieldbus Connectivity: Now supported on both Port 1 and Port 2 (previously Port 1 only) for enhanced integration flexibility.
• New Unit — inch‑ounces: Adds support for inch‑ounces unit of measurement for PSET setup, expanding flexibility for applications using this unit.
• Global Settings — “Persist IO state on disconnect”: Controls job selection behavior when communication is lost while Interlock and job selection over that communication are enabled.
  • Default (Non‑Persistent): Job is unselected; must be re‑selected after reconnection.
  • Enabled (Persistent): Job remains selected after communication is restored.
• Factory Reset: Modified to retain Profinet Settings.
• Tool Overheat Protection: Added software safeguard; monitors temperature and stops operation when overheating is detected.
• IQ Stop: Algorithm enhanced to restrict torque overshoot on hard joints, improving tightening accuracy and process control for critical fastening.

Enhancements

• Ethernet IP Stability: Resolved frequent disconnections between IQI and Omron PLC NX1P2.
• Ethernet Cable Handling: Fixed issue where unplugging the Ethernet cable caused the controller to restart.
• EthernetIP Feedback: Corrected problem where EthernetIP could not return job selection and Incycle status.
• Controller Login: Addressed issue requiring a reboot after unplugging Ethernet cable without logout.
• PLC Integration: Fixed Ethernet IP connectivity issue with customer PLC.
• PFOP: Corrected issue where the controller restarted when MES sent an empty or incorrect barcode via PFOP.
• Ethernet Settings: After factory reset, Ethernet settings now remain as previously programmed.
• Multi‑Step PSET: Resolved issue where exceeding torque high limit on the second step (angle step) did not display OK/NOK and Incycle at IO was not reset.
• Upgrade Progress Indicator: During controller upgrades via the web browser, the local screen now displays a progress bar.
• Download Cycle Results (Remote Browser): Fixed problem where users were unable to download cycle results from the web interface.
