INSIGHTqcx Software Release Notes (100.2.0.11 / 300.2.0.11)

Release Information

The following software releases are launched as part of this release package.  Please upgrade both the Controller and tools with the latest versions as outlined in this section.

New Features:

• PFOP Enhancements
  Provided support for MID2500 and MID2501 to allow users to update the Pset definition from MES end
• UI Enhancement – Barcode Settings
  The Barcode Settings screen now displays all barcode strings currently associated with jobs for a tool. Users can directly view and manage the barcode strings as required.
• Logs Download Reliability Improvement
  Added download progress indicators for Cycle Results, Job Results, and Debug Logs to improve visibility and reliability during log downloads.
• EOR Reliability – Alarm Enhancements
  Introduced alarm messages for the following EOR conditions:
• Duplicate EOR received
• Missing EOR detected
  • Discovery Screen Improvements
    Improved reliability of firmware update, license update, user update, and restore features on the Discovery screen

Enhancements and Fixes:

• INSIGHTqcx controller – with and without DIO
• Barcode in Cycle Results: Fixed an issue where the controller received the barcode, but it was not reflected in the cycle results.
• Ethernet/IP (EIP) Stability: Resolved unstable EIP connection issues where the PLC could not maintain communication with the controller.
• PFOP MID64/65: Job ID in EOR: Fixed incorrect behavior of PFOP MID 64/65 when the “Use Job ID in EOR” flag is enabled in PFOP settings.
• Job Error Feedback Visibility: Fixed an issue where job flags turned red with an error icon but no descriptive error feedback was displayed to the user
• Tool Barcode & Job Selection Consistency: Resolved inconsistencies between tool barcode scanning and job selection.
• Duplicate Tool Barcode Scans: Fixed an issue causing duplicate barcode scans from the tool.
• Barcode Settings Validation: Corrected erroneous “duplicate barcode string” warnings when adding new barcode strings.
• PSET Visibility Across Jobs : Fixed missing PSETs when multiple jobs were configured using the same PSET.
• PFOP MID 0076 Formatting: Fixed PFOP MID 0076 messages with incorrect formatting sent during subscription when Revision 2 was used.

QX Connect Radio and Wi-Fi 4.0 with MCE Changes:

• Region Configuration Support: Added region settings support in both the tool and the INSIGHT Connect application.
• RSSI Visibility: Implemented display of RSSI values on the tool for improved wireless signal visibility.
• Wi‑Fi Connection Handling: Fixed an issue where the tool displayed the controller IP address when Wi‑Fi settings were incorrect. The tool now shows 0.0.0.0 if it fails to connect to the access point, and correctly displays the AP‑assigned IP when Wi‑Fi settings are valid
• Job Selection and Continuous Run Stability: Fixed an issue where the tool could lock up during job selection and continuous run modes.
• Wi‑Fi Channel Support: Fixed an issue preventing the tool from connecting to access points operating on channels 136–160.
• Post‑Update Connectivity: Resolved tool connectivity failures observed after upgrading the controller to software version 300.0.2.56.
• Pairing Mode Entry: Corrected tool behavior where the IP address/Wi‑Fi screen was shown instead of transitioning to pairing mode.

QX Connect Wi-Fi 6.0 Tool Changes:

1. Region Configuration Support: Added region settings support on the tool and within the INSIGHT Connect application.
2. PFOP Power‑Up Cycle Control: Corrected behavior where an additional cycle was allowed to run after power‑up when the tool was licensed for PFOP and configured with PFOP‑MES Wi‑Fi settings.
3. Firmware Update Reliability: Resolved A‑11 fault occurrences and improved retry handling during MCE updates as part of the tool firmware update process.
4. Mode Transition Stability: Addressed tool lockup observed after switching from PFOP‑MES to Basic mode when PFOP licensing was enabled.
5. Unexpected Pairing Mode: Eliminated unexpected transitions into pairing mode during normal tool operation.
6. Post Power‑Cycle Reconnection: Improved tool reconnection behavior after power cycling or waking from sleep, removing the need for re‑pairing to restore connectivity.

Known Issues:

• QCX 1000/2000 controllers: Invalid trace data is generated for the first cycle after tool power-up or pairing. Subsequent cycles display correct trace data.
• QX Wi-Fi 4 tools: Tool firmware updates from the controller USB may occasionally fail.  Workaround: Repeat the firmware update from the controller to complete successfully
• QX Wi-Fi 6 tools :
  1. PM alarm cannot be configured on the controller when the tool is paired over a Wi-Fi connection.
  2. After pairing, the barcode scanner may not appear in the controller’s accessory screen until the tool is rebooted
  3. After returning to range, the tool may fail to enter scan mode; a power cycle is required.

1. From QCX version 2.x.x: Perform USB Image Update to 100..2.0.11.

Tool Firmware Update

• Updating QX Series Tools
  • How to Update QX and QX Connect tool firmware using an MTC controller
    • Note: For WiFi 4 tools it is recommended to use the INSIGHT Connect App to perform tool firmware updates.  There are known when updating the WiFi 4 tools when using the controller.
      • How to update QX tools using the INSIGHT Connect App.

    • Note: If a tool firmware update initiated from the controller USB fails, repeat the firmware update from the controller to complete the update successfully.

       

• Updating RTS tools
  • Connect the tool to the updated controller via USB and follow on‑screen prompts.
  • If updating from a version earlier than 4.3, recalibrate the tool on the application after the update.
    • This release includes updated algorithms to enhance performance of RTS025, RTS060, and RTS140. Perform verification on the application after updating.
