QX Limitless Series Wi-Fi Setup Guide

The QX Limitless Series supports Wi-Fi connectivity for fast, flexible communication with manufacturing systems, controllers, and connected assembly environments.

This guide walks through the basic steps for connecting a QX Limitless tool to a wireless network and verifying communication with your system.

Tips for First-Time Setup

For faster deployment:

• Configure one tool completely before cloning settings to additional tools
• Label tools after setup
• Document SSIDs and network settings
• Verify communication before moving into production

Best Practices for Reliable Wi-Fi Performance

For the most stable connection:

• Use strong wireless coverage in the work area
• Minimize interference from metal obstructions
• Avoid congested wireless channels when possible
• Use approved enterprise network settings
• Keep firmware updated

Before You Begin

Before starting Wi-Fi setup, confirm you have:

• A charged QX Limitless Series tool
• Access to the target wireless network
• Network name (SSID)
• Network password
• Access to the INSIGHT™ Connect App and INSIGHTqcx™ controller
• Proper network permissions from your IT team, if required

The QX Limitless Series supports:

• Wi-Fi 6 (QX Limitless Wi-Fi 6 Series only)
• Standard Wi-Fi
• 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks
• Bluetooth® connectivity to app
• USB programming to app

Choose a Setup Method

A successful connection allows the tool to:

• Transmit fastening data
• Communicate with controllers
• Support traceability functions
• Enable remote configuration

Note: Be sure to enter credentials exactly as provided. Wireless passwords are case sensitive.

1. Connect to Wi-Fi using the Insight Connect App using Bluetooth:

1. Install a charged battery.
2. Press the trigger or power button to wake the tool.
3. Verify the display is active.
4. Launch the INSIGHT Connect App on your device.
5. Enable Bluetooth on the device running the app.
6. Search for available QX tools.
7. The tool should now appear in the available device list.
8. Select the correct QX Limitless tool.
9. Complete the pairing process.
10. Confirm the connection is successful.
11. Once paired, the app can access wireless configuration settings.
12. Go to Controller IP Pairing Process for Wi-Fi setup and pairing.

2. Connect to Wi-Fi using the Insight Connect App using USB:

1. Connect the tool using USB.
2. Go to Controller IP Pairing Process for Wi-Fi setup and pairing.
